Resumen:

Actualmente, existe un aumento del número de ITS (infecciones de transmisión sexual) diagnosticadas, embarazos no deseados e interrupciones voluntarias del embarazo entre la población joven (18-30 años). Por este motivo, se propuso valorar el conocimiento que tenía esta población en cuanto a las ITS así como conocer sus hábitos sexuales. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en la población de la localidad de Ciudad Real. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que los hábitos sexuales difieren considerablemente del concepto de una vida sexual sana y que sus conocimientos acerca de las ITS son muy escasos.

Currently, there is an increase in the number of diagnosed STI (sexually transmitted infections), unwanted pregnancies and voluntary interruptions of pregnancy among the young population (18-30 years). For this reason, the aim was to assess the knowledge of this population regarding STI as well as their sexual habits. Across-sectional descriptive study was carried out in the population of Ciudad Real. The results obtained showed that sexual habits differ considerably from the concept of a healthy sexual life and that their knowledge about STIs is very low.
